Endhiran ( The Robot ) nearing completion – Rajni starts dubbing
It’s great news for all fans of Superstar Rajnikanth as he has completed shooting for ‘Endhiran- The Robot’. According to the source, the talkie portions have been completed with couple of songs pending now. One of the songs will be shot in Pune while Shankar has decided to take a world tour on finalizing locations for the other one.
‘Endhiran’ had started rolling in September 2008 and has been shot across various parts of the World including United States, Switzerland, South Africa and Peru.

Only two Indians have ever won an Oscar costume designer Bhanu Athaiya for Gandhi (1982) and arthouse director Satyajit Ray who received a lifetime achievement award in 1992. However, with three Academy Award nominations this year for Slumdog Millionaire one for overall score and for two songs Chennai-based composer A R Rahman looks likely to be the third. He’s also up for the Best Music award at Sunday night’s Baftas.
“We’ve been waiting for this for 80 years,” said Rahman recently in The Hindu, the Indian daily newspaper. “I think it will create a bridge between Western and Indian audiences, and lead to more people exploring Indian music.”
Rahman’s first breakthrough tune Chinna Chinna Aasai, in the 1992 film Roja was a song of a poor man dreaming of riches. Rahman’s family had struggled after his father. His father’s eclectic tastes was inherited by his son, who formed a rock band in his teens and studied Western classical music (at Trinity College in London) and Indian classical music.
“Compared with other Indian film composers, I only write about six movies a year. Others write up to 60,” he tells me in the unlikely setting of his house in Tufnell Park, where he lives when he is in London.
He’s already the first Indian national to pick up a Golden Globe (for Slumdog), and says: “I hope we get at least one [Oscar]. I cannot wait for the announcement.”

I am shocked at the untimely passing away of Michael Jackson, one of the greatest musicians of our time. MJ, for most of our generation was an icon who made uncompromising music. He pushed the milestone of pop music to unbelievable levels
through the 8os and 90s. I am yet to find an artist with that energy, perfection and vision.
I met him personally after the Oscars in Los Angeles and we vibed very well. He said that he loved India and the Indian people. He said he heard good things about me and he was praising the chord progression of Jai Ho’s chorus. He was bursting with energy and told me that every dance move he did, came from his soul and did a five second stunning example. It was like a lightning strike.
He was concerned about developmental issues such as global warming and about wars and its damages to the human community. He asked me to compose a unity anthem on the likes of We are the World for him. I nodded in awe …!

The beautiful actress Lisa Ray has been diagnosed with a rare and incurable cancer of the white blood cells.
On her blog, Lisa ray wrote “I was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma on June 23rd. Started my first cycle of treatment July 2nd. Not long ago.”
Lisa Ray was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada to a Bengali Indian father and a Polish mother. She started her career as model and made debut to Bollywood in 2001 with ‘Kasoor‘.

The King of Pop, arrived India’s entertainment capital Mumbai on October 30th in 1996. 5′8″ tall Bollywood Actress Sonali Bendre, clad in traditional Maharashtrian 9 yard saree, performed the aarti and tilak for Michael at the airport and he was quite taken up with the entire ceremony.
“King of Pop” played a breathtaking two-hour set and also invited children from local orphanages to his luxury hotel for a poolside party.
